Krank Cycles Is the Best Full Service Bike Repair Shop on Maui

Most people find Krank Cycles because they need a bike rental. But if you already own a bike and it needs work, you're in the right place too.

We're one of the few full service bike repair shops on Maui with the mechanics, tools, and service menu to handle anything you bring through the door. Not just a tune-up. Not just a flat fix. Everything.

This article breaks down what we do, who we serve, and how to get your bike into our hands.

What We Do at Our Full Service Bike Repair Shop on Maui

The phrase "full service" gets used loosely. A lot of shops on the island offer some level of bike repair, but there's a real difference between a place that can adjust your brakes and a shop that can overhaul your rear suspension, bleed your hydraulic brakes, true both wheels, and rebuild your drivetrain from the bottom bracket up.

Full service means your bike comes in with any problem and leaves in better condition than when you brought it. It means we stock the tools for frame-level work, not just component swaps. It means our mechanics can assess a bike they've never seen before and tell you exactly what it needs.

That's the standard we hold ourselves to at Krank Cycles. When you're looking for full service bike repair shops on Maui, the question to ask isn't just "do they fix bikes?" It's "can they fix my bike, whatever's wrong with it?"

We can.

Every Bike Repair and Service We Offer at Krank Cycles

Our service menu covers the full range of bicycle maintenance, from a quick safety inspection to a complete mechanical overhaul. Here's what that looks like in practice.

Tune-Ups, Overhauls, and Drivetrain Services

We offer tiered tune-up packages to match what your bike actually needs.

A Simple Check-Up covers single-speed and coaster brake bikes. It includes frame inspection, brake adjustment, bearing inspection, chain lubrication, and tire inflation.

Our Standard Tune-Up covers wheel truing, brake and shift adjustment, bearing checks, hardware tightening, and a full wipe-down.

Step up to our full Tune-Up and we add a bike wash, drivetrain cleaning, component lubrication, disc brake rotor truing, cable lubrication, and derailleur hanger alignment.

The Deluxe Tune-Up includes all of that plus deeper cleaning and attention to longer-term wear.

And if your bike needs a ground-up reset, our Full Overhaul covers complete component removal, deep cleaning in our parts washer, fresh grease in all bearing systems, and reinstallation of all parts.

We also offer individual drivetrain services. New chain installation, cassette and freewheel work, crankset installation, bottom bracket replacement, derailleur adjustment and replacement, and internal cable routing are all on the menu.

If your drivetrain is noisy, skipping, or overdue for service, that's a straightforward fix for us.

Brake, Suspension, and Wheel Services

These are the services that separate a real full service bicycle shop from a basic tune-up stand.

For brakes, we handle cable-actuated and hydraulic disc systems, cantilever and V-brakes, caliper brakes, and drum brakes. Hydraulic brake bleeds, hose replacement, pad changes, and rotor alignment are all standard. If your brakes feel soft, inconsistent, or slow to return, bring the bike in.

Suspension work includes complete lower leg service on Fox and RockShox forks, full fork overhauls with seal replacement and damper service, rear shock air sleeve service, and complete rear suspension pivot overhauls. This is technical work that a lot of shops on the island send out. We do it here.

Wheel services cover flat repair, tire and tube installation, tubeless setup, wheel building, spoke replacement, and wheel truing. If a wheel is too far out of true to ride or a rim is damaged, we can assess whether it's worth saving or whether a build from scratch makes more sense.

We Work on All Bike Types, Including E-Bikes

We work on everything. Road bikes, mountain bikes, e-bikes, BMX, single-speeds, beach cruisers, and department store bikes all come through our shops. You don't need a premium brand or a current model for us to service it.

E-bikes in particular require specific knowledge. The motor systems, battery connections, and electronic components demand care during any mechanical work. Our mechanics are familiar with e-bike service requirements and take that into account before touching anything.

If you're not sure whether we can handle your specific bike, call us. We'll tell you straight.
